As Christians in Scotland, particularly in Glasgow and Helensburgh, we face a growing challenge from Bethel Church and the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). Their music-driven emotionalism, seen in programs like The Send’s KC Mission School and leaders like Sean Feucht, risks producing false converts, people drawn to feelings rather than the true gospel.

Who Was Rev. Robert Kirk?

Introduction
I have an interest in Rev. Robert Kirk, who was a Scottish minister and scholar who lived from 1644 to 1692. He is best known for translating the Bible into Scottish Gaelic, though I’m not a Gaelic speaker, but Kirk made God’s Word accessible to Highland communities. His work on the Gaelic Psalms and Bible is connected to my family's heritage in the Free Church of Scotland, which had a tradition of Scripture-focused worship.

At BornAgainChristians.org, we stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those facing persecution. The recent conflict between India and Pakistan, with missile strikes and a ceasefire on May 10, 2025, reminds us to pray for peace and protection for Christians in both nations. Hebrews 13:3 calls us to “remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them.” The story of Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian, inspires us to pray and advocate for the persecuted.

A Group Making Big Claims

A group called the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is based in Crewe, England, not far from us in Scotland. Their leader, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, says he is the Mahdi, an Islamic saviour. He claims to be the true Pope and a successor to Jesus and Muhammad. He says his group is the true religion and will build a divine state. These claims sound like the false messiahs Jesus warned about.
