A Burden for Gaza’s Transformation Through the Gospel

A Burden Born from Love
My heart is heavy for the Jewish people, God’s chosen nation. As a born-again Christian in Scotland, I run bornagainchristians.org to share the truth of Jesus Christ. Recently, I watched a YouTube video by Joseph Cohen, an Orthodox Jew with the Israel Advocacy Movement.
Hi folk, been a while posting, but my heart is heavy for the folk, Israeli and Palestinians the last few days, who are caught in the cruel grip of the Gaza war. As Christians, we are called to pray for Jerusalem’s peace (Psalm 122:6) and to weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15).
As an eager 11-year-old in Scotland back in 1984, I felt a nudge from God to pray for Ethiopia’s famine and the rescue of its people in Israel. Having just started my faith journey at the age of seven, I was captivated by Blue Peter’s appeal, which showed trucks trapped in Ethiopia’s mud and shared the story of Operation Moses airlifting Ethiopian Jews.
Last night I was watching away on Amir Tsarfati’s Telegram, my eyes glued to the screen in the wee hours, feeling the weight of what’s happening in Israel. Their Operation Rising Lion ~ Am KeLavi, meaning “Nation Like a Lion” from Numbers 23:24 ~ has walloped Iran’s nuclear sites and IRGC bigwigs. It’s got me thinking of Psalm 83, with nations ganging up on God’s people. As folks with a heart for the Lord and Israel, let’s dive into this story, see what’s what, and pray hard, deeply.
